Find California EV Charging Opportunities
Discover where to install DC fast chargers across California with this interactive dashboard.
Designed for CALeVIP applicants, the tool highlights optimal charging locations in disadvantaged communities (DACs), low-income communities (LICs) and tribal areas. It combines data on EV registrations, existing charging infrastructure, and utility service areas to help guide your decisions. Areas with higher EV-to-charger ratios are likely to see greater usage; however, this information is not part of the application review process.
The CALeVIP Fast Charge California Project offers incentives for ready-to-build (Tier 1) DCFC installations at publicly accessible locations throughout the state. Priority processing and approval will be given to projects in DACs, LICs and tribal areas as detailed in the Implementation Manual.
- Select a geographic area to explore.
- Choose whether to focus on DACs, LICs, non-equity communities or all communities.
- Visualize “BEV registrations per DCFC” to identify areas with the highest ratios of battery EVs to chargers. Darker shading represents higher ratios. You can also view other data such as EV registrations or charger counts.
- Overlay current EV charger locations to identify gaps in infrastructure.
- Add additional layers, such as tribal areas, utility service areas or census tracts.
